Cosa è LCD


Il display di cristalli liquidi (LCD) è un tipo di tecnologia di visualizzazione del pannello piatto che utilizza un materiale in cristallo liquido per modulare la luce e produrre immagini.

I display LCD sono ampiamente utilizzati in una varietà di dispositivi elettronici, tra cui monitor di computer, televisori, smartphone e fotocamere digitali.

In un LCD, la luce viene passata attraverso una retroilluminazione, che in genere è costituita da un diodo a emissione di luce (LED) o una lampada fluorescente a catodo freddo (CCFL), per illuminare il materiale di cristallo liquido.

Il materiale a cristallo liquido è inserito tra due elettrodi trasparenti e un filtro polarizzante e la tensione applicata agli elettrodi determina l'orientamento delle molecole di cristalli liquidi.
